Islamabad, Jan 10: At least 10 people were killed and over 35 injured when a bomb exploded in Quetta city in Pakistan's Balochistan province Thursday, a media report said.

Those killed and the injured included a para-military trooper and five children, Xinhua reported. At least 10 people, including two kids, were critically injured and the toll may further rise, said hospital sources.

The incident occurred at 3.50 p.m. when a car bomb went off near a check-post of Frontier Corps (FC), a para-military force in the country, in Quetta's Bacha Khan area, media reports said.

At least five to six FC members were on duty at the check-post when the blast took place. The bomb was planted inside a car parked near the check-post.

The explosion destroyed six vehicles and several houses, shops and offices while creating a two-foot deep crater at the blast site.
