Kushinagar, UP, Mar 23: A ferocious tiger created panic, as it strayed into a village in Kushinagar district of injuring two villagers on Friday.
Villagers said, forest department staff arrived late, and without any preparation to catch the wild animal.
The feline pounced on two men when villagers tried to scare the tiger by burning logs of fire. The tiger ran and hid inside a field.
The two villagers, who sustained deep cuts, were rushed to the district hospital.
Deputy Forest Officer, RP Singh said, the tiger had entered the human habitat in search of food, and there was no sign to say that it was a man-eater.
