Mandi Municipal Corporation Results LIVE: BJP storms polls with 12-Ward majority victory, Congress gets one

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured a decisive victory in the Mandi Municipal Corporation elections. The party registered a sweeping win by clinching 12 wards. The Congress and other candidates managed to win only one ward each.

The Mandi Municipal Corporation election results have been declared, showing a strong performance by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which secured a majority of the reported wards. Independent and Congress candidates managed to register limited wins in select areas, reflecting a mixed mandate across the city. Ward-wise results indicate that Ward No. 1 was won by Alaknanda Handa (Independent), while Ward No. 2 went to Sarita Handa (BJP). In Ward No. 3, Nirmal Verma (BJP) secured victory, followed by Narvada Devi (Congress) winning Ward No. 4. BJP continued its dominance with Krishna Thakur winning Ward No. 5 and Virendra Arya taking Ward No. 6. In the later wards, Suman (BJP) won Ward No. 9, and Neha Kumari (BJP) clinched Ward No. 10.

The BJP has registered a resounding victory in the Mandi Municipal Corporation elections, winning 12 of the 14 wards declared so far. Congress has managed to secure just one seat, while an Independent candidate has won one ward. The results underline the BJP's strong performance in the civic polls and give the party a commanding lead in the race for control of the municipal corporation. 

The BJP has extended its lead in the Mandi Municipal Corporation elections by winning all five wards declared in the second round of counting. With these victories, the party's tally has risen to eight seats. Congress has secured two seats so far, while one seat has gone to an Independent candidate. The results have also delivered a setback to Congress, as Praveen Kumar, nephew of former minister Kaul Singh Thakur, lost the election in the closely watched Khaliyar ward. The latest trends place the BJP in a strong position as counting continues across the 15-member civic body.

The BJP continued its winning momentum as Krishna Thakur emerged victorious from Ward No 5 Mangwain, giving the party another important seat in the civic body.

Ward No. 3 Paddal has gone in favour of the BJP, with Nirmala Verma registering a victory. 

Congress opened its account in the Mandi MC elections with a win in Ward No. 4 Nela. Party candidate Narvada Mohan defeated her rivals to secure the seat for the ruling party.

The BJP secured a crucial victory in Ward No. 2 Purani Mandi, where Sarita Handa won by a razor-thin margin of just two votes. 

The first result of the Mandi Municipal Corporation elections has been declared from Ward No. 1 Khaliyar. Independent candidate Alaknanda Handa emerged victorious, while BJP candidate Ranveer Singh finished second. Congress candidate Praveen Kumar, nephew of former minister Kaul Singh Thakur, suffered a defeat in the high-profile contest.

The BJP fielded candidates in all 15 wards of the Mandi Municipal Corporation elections. Ranveer Singh contested from Khaliyar, Sarita Handa from Purani Mandi, Nirmal Verma from Paddal, Manju Devi from Nela, Krishna Thakur from Mangwain, Virender Arya from Sanyard (SC), Jitender Singh from Talyahar, Gurdeep Kaur from Palace Colony-1, Suman Thakur from Palace Colony-2, Neha Kumari from Suhra (SC-Woman), Jitender Sharma from Samkhetar, Gagan Kashyap from Bhagwahan, Rajni Sharma from Thanehra, Gurbachan Singh from Behna (SC) and Reeta Devi from Dhaundhi (SC-Woman).

The BJP gave tickets to four sitting councillors while also introducing several new faces in the election, aiming to balance experience with fresh leadership. 

Independent candidate Alaknanda Handa has secured victory from Ward No. 1 Khaliyar in the Mandi Municipal Corporation elections. Congress candidate Praveen Kumar, nephew of senior Congress leader and former minister Kaul Singh Thakur, suffered a defeat in the closely watched contest. BJP finished in second place in the ward. The Khaliyar seat had drawn significant attention during the campaign due to rebellion within the Congress, with Alaknanda Handa contesting as an Independent after differences over ticket distribution.

The results of the Mandi Municipal Corporation elections are expected to be announced among the first civic poll outcomes in Himachal Pradesh. As counting progresses, all eyes will be on the 15 wards of Mandi, where the BJP and Congress are locked in a closely watched contest. 

The ruling Congress made a strong push in Mandi with campaigning by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Minister Vikramaditya Singh. The party is hoping to improve its position in the municipal corporation.

Counting of votes for the Mandi Municipal Corporation has begun. In the 2021 municipal corporation elections, the BJP won 11 out of 15 wards and established a dominant position in the civic body. This time, however, the party entered the contest as the Opposition while Congress holds power in the state.

Former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur personally led the BJP's campaign across several wards. The results are being viewed as a test of his political influence in his home district.

The Mandi MC election has turned into a direct contest between the BJP and Congress. Both parties campaigned aggressively.
