The Congress party has announced its plan to hold the next meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CEC) on March 19. This crucial gathering is expected to address various pressing issues and strategies ahead of upcoming political developments. The meeting is likely to discuss several important agenda items, including the party's electoral strategies, candidate selection for upcoming elections, organisational restructuring, and policy formulations. 

Congress joins I.N.D.I.A Bloc

Ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, the Congress party has aligned itself with the I.N.D.I.A bloc of opposition parties, signaling a united front against the ruling BJP-led coalition.

BJP sets ambitious seat targets

With eyes set on the upcoming polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has outlined ambitious targets, aiming to secure over 370 seats independently and over 400 seats in alliance with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, conducted in seven phases from April 11 to May 19, the BJP, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, secured a landslide victory. The party clinched 303 seats out of the 543-member House, consolidating its position as the dominant political force in India.
