Watch in pics: B.R. Ambedkar's relics lie in decrepit condition

New Delhi: Dr Bhimrao Ambdekar was the chief architect of the Indian constitution.He was a politician, philosopher, jurist, and economist. He was an active voice of the backward classes and the deprived sections of society. In the later years of his life, he left Hinduism and became a Buddhist . He was awarded Bharat Ratna posthumously in 1990. Every year, on his birth and death anniversaries, the Social Justice Ministry and other ministries and governments spend crores of rupees to splash full page ads extolling him, but the fact remains that his relics lie in worse conditions in the museum in Chincholi near Nagpur. Let us see how the relics of Dr Ambedkar have been preserved: 1. In Maharashtra, near Nagpur lies Deekshabhoomi of Dr Ambedkar, his museum is situated inside the sacred monument in Chincholi. 2. A waist coat of him which he used to wear in his constitution drafting committee's meetings. 3. The coat lies in tatters. 4. He used to dress in western formals so as to inspire the deprived sections of society for them to follow his footsteps. 5. These clothes have been reduced to tatters by termites now. 6. The typewriter on which he wrote the draft of the constitution is kept in a bad condition with dust lying on the machine. 7. The draft of the constitution was amended 98 times before the final draft, and this typewriter was used by him to do so. 8. The Indira Gandhi museum at 1, Safdarjang Road in Delhi is kept in a nice manner. Her articles have been preserved very well; the museum is spic and span. 9. However, B.R. Ambedkar's museum lie in ruins due to the negligence of authorities. 10. The ‘ashtadhatu' idol of Budhha is kept in open for years and a thick layer of dust and dirt covers the idol. 11. “We consider Baba Saheb as God. It is saddening that his relics have been kept in such conditions one can not even imagine” lamented a local visitor.
