Delhi-Ghaziabad borders sealed to stop coronavirus spread

The borders between Delhi and Ghaziabad have been completely sealed as a measure to contain the spread of coronavirus. As per reports, the decision has been taken after 6 people who travelled to Delhi from Ghaziabad have tested positive for coronavirus.

The borders between Delhi and Ghaziabad have been completely sealed on Tuesday as a measure to contain the spread of coronavirus. The decision to seal the borders at Ghaziabad-Delhi was taken by the Ghaziabad District Magistrate Ajay Shankar Pandey after 6 people who travelled to Delhi from Ghaziabad tested positive for coronavirus. Long lines of vehicles were seen at the police check posts on Delhi-Ghaziabad border following the sealing orders. 

Only essential services and health workers who would carry valid pass issued by the authorities were being allowed by the police at the border. Ghaziabad administration made it clear that special e-passes will be issued for others who want to pass through with a valid reason.

There is no official timeline been given as to how long the sealing will last. 

Ghaziabad now has over 35 cases of coronavirus as the authorities have increased the number of hotspots in the city.
