Mumbai North West Lok Sabha election 2019 result: Shiv Sena's Gajanan Kirtikar leads Sanjay Nirupam by 2.6 lakh votes

Congress has been able to secure victory in three of last four Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai North West.

Counting of votes for Mumbai North West Lok Sabha constituency is underway, and Shiv Sena's Gajana Kirtikar is leading Congress' Sanjay Nirupam by 2,60,342 votes.

Mumbai North West is parliamentary constituency number 27 in Maharashtra. Shiv Sena's Gajanan Kirtikar is the sitting MP of Mumbai North West. 

In 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Kirtikar defeated Congress' Gurudas Kamat by a margin of 20 per cent of votes.

Congress has been able to secure victory in three of last four Lok Sabha elections.

There are 17,75,416 voters in Mumbai North West Lok Sabha constituency. 56 per cent of them are men while 44 per cent of them are women. Mumbai North West constituency comprises 6 assembly constituencies.

The seven phases of the Lok Sabha polls 2019 covered a total of 543 constituencies. Voting in the first phase was conducted on April 11. 

Simultaneous elections were held for Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim, and Odisha assemblies -- the results for which were also due on May 23.
