Hyderabad resident, Hafez Mohammed Bahauddin thanked External Affair Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj and Indian Embassy for rescuing him from Saudi Arabia and sending him back to India.

Hafez who had earlier worked as a Quran teacher in Hyderabad was offered a job at a mosque in Saudi Arabia's Al Bahah by an agent. Aspired to move to Saudi Arab, Hafez paid a sum of Rs 95,000 to the agent.

"I used to work as a Quran teacher at a Madrassa in Hyderabad when an agent offered me a job at a mosque in Saudi Arabia's Al Bahah. I paid him Rs 95,000," Hafez told ANI.

On March 21, Hafez left to Al Bahah city in Saudi. Right after landing there he was taken to a remote place and was forced to work as a cleaner.

"The agent sent me to a remote place and made me work as a cleaner. I was sick but the employer refused to take me to the hospital. Indian Embassy officials rescued me and issued me a ticket for Hyderabad. I would like to thank Sushma Swaraj Ji and Indian Embassy," he added.

He contacted his wife and told her about the treatment being meted out to him in Saudi Arabia. His wife sent a letter to Sushma Swaraj appealing her to rescue Hafez.

Hafez was later rescued by the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia and now he is reunited with his family. He is glad to return to India.

In the past, Sushma Swaraj had played a key role in rescuing many victims of human trafficking from India and bringing them back to the country.
