Ten coaches of Jhelum Express today derailed near Pillaur, between Jalandhar and Ludhiana in Punjab, leaving at least two passengers injured.

“Ten coaches of the Jhelum Express derailed between Phillaur and Ladhowal at 3:05 am," Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Ferozepur Anuj Prakash said.
According to Ministry of Railways, the train was coming from Jammu and going towards Pune when it went off the tracks. The derailed bogies include - B5,S1,PC,S2, S3,S4,S5,S6,S7,S8.
The injured have been taken to the Civil Hospital in Ludhiana, where they are being treated.
“No casualty reported, two minor injured send to Civil hospital, Ludhiana. Three buses reached site,” it said in a tweet.
Jhelum Express, a daily train that runs between Pune and Jammu Tawi, is one of the oldest trains originating from Pune. Started in 1979, it was the first train connecting Pune to the capital city of New Delhi.
The train is strategically important, as it connects the headquarters of the Southern Command of the Indian Army, Pune, with an important border city.
