Rohit Shetty house firing: Three accused arrested by Mumbai Police, interrogation underway
Unidentified persons opened fire at filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s multi-storey residence in Mumbai’s Juhu area in the early hours of Sunday, officials said. No injuries were reported, and it was not yet clear whether the filmmaker was present at the residence at the time of the incident.

The Mumbai Police on Sunday detained three persons in connection with the firing at Bollywood filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence in Mumbai, officials said. The assailants opened fire at the first floor of the 9 storey building in Mumbai’s Juhu area at around 12.45 am. At least 5 rounds were fired, with one bullet hitting the glass of a gym located in the building.
The 4 suspects were detained from the Karvenagar and Dhayari areas of Pune during an operation conducted by personnel of the Warje Malwadi police station, an official said, adding that further investigation is underway.
Following the incident, teams from the forensic science laboratory and ballistics experts reached the spot to collect evidence.
Mumbai police have registered a case under charges of attempt to murder under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with provisions of the Arms Act.
How the firing was planned and executed
According to senior sources in the Mumbai Police, the Crime Branch team has found that one of the accused helped provide logistical support and a vehicle, an Activa scooter, to those involved in the firing at filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence.
On Sunday morning, a joint operation by the Pune Police, Mumbai Police and the Crime Branch led to the detention of 5 people in connection with the incident. Of these, 3 accused have been arrested, while the remaining 2 are still in custody as police verify their roles in carrying out the attack.
There is no official information yet about the main shooter. However, police sources say the entire module appears to be similar to that of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
