Karnataka: 10 injured after private bus plunges off bridge in Shivamogga district
According to reports, the bus collided with the bridge railing before falling below. It was carrying over 40 passengers at the time of the incident and was en route from Channagiri in Davanagere district to Bhadravati.

A private bus went out of control and plunged off a bridge in Karnataka’s Shivamogga district, triggering panic among passengers. The incident occurred at Kagehalla in Veerapura village, located in Bhadravati taluk. According to reports, the bus collided with the bridge railing before falling below.
More than 10 passengers sustained serious injuries and have been admitted to the Bhadravati taluk hospital for treatment.
The bus was carrying over 40 passengers at the time of the incident and was en route from Channagiri in Davanagere district to Bhadravati.
The area where the accident took place falls under the jurisdiction of the Bhadravati Rural Police Station, where a case has been registered and an investigation is currently underway.
Two dead after bus crashes into lorry in Hassan
Earlier, a road accident in Karnataka’s Hassan district claimed two lives and left seven others injured after a private bus collided with a lorry near Ammakuteera Layout in Hirisave, Channarayapatna taluk.
The bus, travelling from Mangaluru to Bengaluru, reportedly attempted to overtake another vehicle on National Highway 75. During the manoeuvre, it crashed into the rear of a lorry moving ahead, leading to a serious collision.
One of the victims, identified as Krishna Shetty, died at the scene. Another passenger, Madhu, succumbed to injuries later while undergoing treatment at a hospital.
The injured passengers were taken to Adichunchanagiri Hospital and nearby medical facilities for treatment. Police officials stated that there were 32 people on board the bus at the time of the accident, including the driver and conductor.
Authorities have begun an investigation into the incident.
