Video captures Pakistani drone getting hit in Jammu sky | WATCH
A Pakistani drone was intercepted near Jammu airport on Thursday evening, leading to loud explosions and a blackout in the area. Air raid sirens were activated, and residents were advised to stay indoors as a precaution. Security forces are on high alert as authorities investigate the incident.

Indian air defence units successfully intercepted at least eight missiles fired by Pakistan towards border areas in Jammu, including the strategically significant Jammu Airport at Satwari, on Thursday evening, according to defence sources. The missiles were directed at key locations, including Satwari (Jammu Airport), Samba, RS Pura, and Arnia, the sources said. The drones were destroyed mid-air before they could hit the ground.
According to local reports, air raid sirens were activated, and residents were advised to stay indoors as a precautionary measure. Security forces have been placed on high alert, and the incident is being closely monitored. Drawing a parallel to tactics used by the Palestinian Hamas group, the sources described the projectiles as "cheap" rockets that were effectively intercepted and neutralised by air defence units.

Drones intercepted along western border
In addition to the missile interceptions, there were potential sightings of hostile drones along India's western border, which were successfully thwarted, the sources said. A sudden power outage plunged Jammu city into darkness following two loud explosions, likely caused by the interception of intruding drones. Sirens echoed throughout the city, urging residents to seek shelter.
Air defence protocols activated
The aerial objects reportedly attempted to strike the strategic Jammu Airport and its surrounding areas, which house Army, IAF, and paramilitary installations. Air defence protocols were activated, resulting in the downing of several Pakistani drones, according to the sources. Eyewitnesses claimed to have seen one drone falling outside the airport premises.
Defence PRO confirms attacks
In a post on X, the PRO Defence Jammu said, "Military stations at Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur were targeted by Pakistani-origin drones and missiles along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir today."
"The threats were swiftly neutralised using kinetic and non-kinetic capabilities in line with established Standard Operating Procedures. No casualties or material losses were reported. India remains fully prepared to defend its sovereignty and ensure the safety of its people," the post added.
