LiveRajpal Yadav Bail Hearing LIVE: Court seeks clarity on payment to complainant, matter to resume at 2.30 pm

Justice Sharma told Rajpal Yadav’s counsel to decide their stance and the bail hearing to resume at 2.30 PM.

According to Bar and Bench, during the hearing, the court noted that Rajpal Yadav and his lawyer had previously assured that the owed money would be paid to the complainant. However, the court observed that today, his lawyers are stating they will deposit the amount before the court. Justice Sharma told Yadav's counsel to finalise their stance, adding that the matter will be taken up again at 2:30 PM today.

The Delhi High Court said, "We may have sympathy for you, but the law is the law. You did not surrender despite the court's order… and only surrendered when the court issued the order again." Rajpal Yadav's lawyer requested interim bail so that the actor could attend his elder brother's daughter's wedding. His lawyer assured the court that Yadav is ready to deposit the remaining amount and has received support from the Bollywood industry and others.

After Sonu Sood, Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Varun Dhawan, renowed Indian singer and musician Anup Jalota pledges Rs 5 lakh for Rajpal Yadav.

As reported by Bar and Bench, the court told the actor, "You have gone to jail because you didn’t honour your own commitment." 

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) also extended its support to Rajpal Yadav and urged the film fraternity to stand by the Hera Pheri actor during this difficult time. In a statement, FWICE said, "Members and well-wishers willing to offer monetary assistance may contribute directly to Shri Rajpal Yadav or route their support through FWICE. The Federation assures complete transparency and any funds received will be responsibly consolidated and handed over to assist him in settling his dues at the earliest."

On the work front, Rajpal Yadav will be next seen in Priyadarshan’s film Bhooth Bangla stars Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Tabu, and others. The film is slated to hit theatres on April 10, 2026. He is also part of the action-comedy Welcome to the Jungle, which features an ensemble cast.

In an interview with news agency PTI, Rajpal Yadav’s wife, Radha Yadav, thanked everyone who had reached out to them. She said, "Everybody has stood by him. The industry has been supportive, a big thank you to everyone who is coming out to help."

Co-founder of Yes Madam, Mayank Arora, also extended his support to Rajpal Yadav following Sonu Sood’s request. On his X handle, he quote-tweeted Sonu Sood’s post and wrote, "Seconded @SonuSood. Even brands should come forward to help the the great talent. @Rajpalofficial will also be a part of an ad film @_yesmadam ! Have already aligned the team on it. #ComeBackStronger (sic)." 

Rajpal Yadav made his directorial debut with the 2012 film Ata Pata Laapata. To fund the project, he borrowed Rs 5 crore from Murali Projects Pvt Ltd. Unfortunately, the film failed at the box office, causing financial strain for the actor. The Hindi comedy-drama earned just Rs 42 lakh.

Taking to his X handle, Sonu Sood urged industry colleagues, directors, and producers to come forward and help Rajpal Yadav. He wrote, "Rajpal Yadav is a gifted actor who has given years of unforgettable work to our industry. Sometimes life turns unfair, not because of talent, but because timing can be brutal. He will be part of my film, and I believe this is the moment for all of us..producers, directors, colleagues to stand together. A small signing amount, adjustable against future work, is not charity, it’s dignity. When one of our own is going through a tough phase, the industry must remind him he’s not alone. This is how we show we are more than just an industry (sic)." 

Singer Mika Singh has come forward to help actor and comedian Rajpal Yadav by contributing Rs 11 lakh for his cheque-bounce case. On Wednesday night, the singer shared a video on his Instagram handle and wrote, "I'm truly happy and proud after my post. It feels amazing to see everyone coming together  this is the unity our industry is known for. But I have one humble request  please don't just post announcements. Let's make sure we actually contribute and make it happen. Many people are asking where to send the money. Let's organise this properly and transparently so everything goes directly to the right place. Support is not just about words it's about action. Let's stand united and do this the right way (sic)."

For the unversed, Rajpal Yadav borrowed Rs 5 crore from Murali Projects Pvt Ltd to fund his directorial film Ata Pata Laapata in 2010. However, the film didn't do well at the box office, making it difficult for Yadav to pay back the loan. As a result, several cheques he had issued bounced, leading to legal action under the Negotiable Instruments Act.

The Delhi High Court will hear Rajpal Yadav's petition in the decade-long Rs 5 crore cheque-bounce case. The actor had surrendered at Delhi’s Tihar Jail on February 5, 2026.
