Tamannaah Bhatia, who has worked with Bollywood filmmaker Sajid Khan in a number of films, came out in support of him days after he was accused of sexual harassment by multiple women. The actress has worked with Sajid Khan in films like 2013's Himmatwala and 2014's Humshakals. Last year, the filmmaker was accused in several #MeToo accounts by actresses Saloni Chopra and Rachel White and journalist Karishma Upadhyay. Talking about working with Sajid Khan, Tamannah claimed that she never felt uncomfortable with him and a good script is her priority rather than who is making it.
While talking to Deccan Chronicle, Tamannah Bhatia talked in length about her experience of working with Sajid Khan and the allengation that have surrounded him. She said, "He never treated me in any bad way and I was completely comfortable working with him." Further commenting on Vidya Balan’s statement of not working with the filmmaker again, she said, "Everyone has a different experience and everybody is entitled to their own opinion and experience. If Vidya has had a bad experience, it's normal for her to react like that."
Tamannaah said that she is very clear about doing movies keeping the script in mind rather than the filmmaker. She added, "For me, it has always been about the script and what's the kind of film that I am working on. When I worked with Sajid, unfortunately, none of our films did well."
Last year after Sajid Khan got accused for sexual harassment by multiple women, he was forced to step down from the ongoing project Housefull 4. He posted a statement revealing his decision to leave the film and wrote, "I must take the moral responsibility of stepping down from my directorial post, till the time I can allay the allegations and prove the truth." Not just Sajid Khan, but many Bollywood celebs related to him faced the heat of the netizens as they questioned how they didn’t know about the filmmaker’s activities.
