Priyanka Chopra is back on her duties after making a mark with her Cannes 2019 debut. The diva was in the French Riviera for the last couple of days with her American singer husband Nick Jonas and gave her fans various reason to celebrate the adorable couple. The actress was present for the festival as the guest for Chopard and made sure she leaves a mark with gorgeous red carpet looks. Now that her stay at the French Riviera is over, PeeCee has flown away to Ethiopia for a Unicef function.

This is no secret that Priyanka Chopra is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambssador. The diva took to her Instagram to share her pictures and special moments with the students of a primary school where she reached to highlight Unicef’s education programme. Sharing the pictures, PeeCee wrote, “Hi everyone, I am on a very special trip. I have just touched down on Ethiopia and it is raining. We are in Addis (Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia) right now. Apparently, it is the first day of rain here. So I feel good about that. But it is extremely special trip. I hope that you all will come on this journey with me. I am in Ethiopia for a specific reason. I want to highlight Unicef’s education programme when it comes to children and youth the country. There is a huge barrier when it comes to access to education for children because there are so many dropouts which begin as soon as kids start school. The primary education goes from Std 1 to Std 8 and secondary education is after that. We see dropouts from Std 1.”

She later shared another picture in which she is seen posing with Madam President Sahle-Work Zewde, the first female president of Ethiopia. She wrote, “This afternoon I had the honor of meeting Madam President Sahle-Work Zewde, the first female president of Ethiopia. Her fierce commitment to the empowerment and advancement of women is unprecedented. She also has a global perspective for the development of her country - Ethiopia is the second largest host country of refugees in Africa, they’ve taken in just under 1M. She’s pushing for policies that provide people with access to education and other essential needs so they can improve their familial economic situation and hence the economy of Ethiopia. I’m so inspired."

On the professional front, Priyanka Chopra was last seen in Hollywood film Isn’t It Romantic. She has also completed shooting for her next Bollywood film directed by Shonali Bose titled The Sky Is Pink. It also stars Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim.
