Thugs of Hindostan is one of those Bollywood films that unfortunately didn’t live up to the much hype they created prior to their release. Citing that Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan was the lead actor in the film, with an ensemble cast consisting of Amitabh Bachchan, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Katrina, Thugs of Hindostan is far from what we’ve imagined. The box office numbers speak for the disappointment that the die-hard Aamir Khan fans faced at the hands of this Vijay Krishna Acharya film. After breaking the opening day records on Day 1 with Rs 52.5 crores of business, each passing day is a test for Thugs of Hindostan.

On Day 6, this Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan film raked in Rs 4.35 crores at the box office, standing at a considerable distance from the speculations. Tweeting about the box office report, Taran Adarsh wrote, ‘#ThugsOfHindostan

The box office numbers started falling for Thugs of Hindostan right from the first day itself. On the second day, the earning fell to 50% and going down with drastic speed. The buzz has settled down in dust for sure and there is no hope left that this film will recover its making cost at the BO.

According to another report, Thugs of Hindostan meted heavy losses not only for the makers, but also for the single-screen exhibitors who bought the film in extremely high Money Guarantee clause. The shows are also getting cancelled as the halls are empty. The negative word of mouth and reviews have affected the business great deal. According to the film trade analysts, Thugs of Hindostan is the biggest disappointment and shocker of the year 2018.
