New Delhi: Director Rohit Shetty is all set to return with the fourth instalment of the ‘Golmaal’ franchise. The shooting of the movie is expected to start every soon.
The movie recently made headlines when Kareena Kapoor left the film due to motherhood. And now there’s some more news coming about the Rohit Shety directorial.
The latest reports about the ‘Golmaal 4’ suggest that the movie is a remake of 2013 Tami black comedy film Soodhu Kavvum (Evil Engulfs) that featured Vijay Sethupathi and Sanchita Shetty in the lead roles.
However, an insider from the movie team has beg to differ from the reports, and asserted that Rohit Shetty will add his creative touch to the movie.
“Expect Rohit to add something of his own to the script. Even the main plot of Golmaal 3 was said to be inspired by Khatta Meetha, but nothing else was similar in the film,” a leading daily quoted a insider.
Actors Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor and Kunal Kemmu will be seen playing the role of three friends, while Ajay Devgn will portray role of a Kidnapping kingpin in the movie. Kareena was supposed to play Devgn’s love interest, but in her absence the hunt for new actress has been started. Names of Shraddha Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra are doing the rounds for Kareena’s replacement in the movie.
“The female lead (Shalu) will play Devgn’s romantic interest. This role was ideal for Kareena, but she can’t be a part of G4 as she’s due this December and G4 starts shooting in October. The scenes involving Shalu and Das have certain comic elements to it and form one of the highlights of the film,” the source added.
