Numbers never mattered to me but I feel proud as an artist: Deepika Padukone on Padmaavat

Padmavaat has broken the record of Deepika's film Chennai Express and minted Rs 239 crore at the box office so far.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's period drama Padmaavat is raking in huge moolah and has entered Rs 200 crore club. Actress Deepika Padukone is brimming with pride over the film's success, however, she says that number game doesn't matter to her.

The Bajirao Mastani actress is happy with the love the film is receiving. She is quite elated at audience's response over her portrayal of Queen Padmavati. The magnum opus also features Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in pivotal roles.

"The journey of Padmaavat has been nothing short of incredible. While numbers never mattered to me. But at this moment feel proud as an artist and as an individual. There could be no better reward than having surpassed my previous highs," Deepika said in a statement here.

Padmavaat has broken the record of Deepika's film Chennai Express and minted Rs 239 crore at the box office till February 9 in India. The gorgeous actress will be seen next in Vishal Bhardwaj's film alongside Irrfan Khan.
