While Arjun Rampal starrer Daddy made huge headlines for its controversial subject, Sunny Deol’s film Poster Boys was based on an accidental vasectomy advertisement that leads to a comedy of errors.

This Friday, the cinemas opened to two Bollywood films- Daddy and Poster Boys. The audience had to choose between a gangster movie and a comedy flick this time. While Arjun Rampal starrer Daddy made huge headlines for its controversial subject, Sunny Deol’s film Poster Boys was based on an accidental vasectomy advertisement that leads to a comedy of errors. Both the films were released on September 8 and, now the box-office collection report is out. Let’s have a look at how these movies fared at the box-office on the opening day.

Daddy box-office collection Day 1 

A lot of hype was created around the Ashim Ahluwalia directional venture Daddy. However, the film crashed at the box-office and, even Arjun Rampal’s fiery performance as Mumbai based don Arun Gawli failed to spell magic. The film, which also starred South Indian actress Aishwarya Rajesh as Asha Gawli collected Rs 1.30 crore on the first day of its opening, according to a report by Bollywood Hungama.

Directed by Shreyas Talpade, Poster Boys starred Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol in lead roles. The comedy drama is a remake of a Marathi movie Poshter Boyz. Actor Sunny Deol, who was last seen in the 2016 flick Ghayal Once Again revealed the reason behind doing the film. He said he loved the script and immediately fell in love with it and, also, he was looking to sharing screen space with brother Bobby again after films such as Heroes and Apne. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the first day collection of the film. “#PosterBoys Fri ₹ 1.75 cr. India biz... Should gain momentum on Sat and Sun”, he wrote.
