Massive crowd greets Rahul, Priyanka Gandhi at Wayanad roadshow

Rahul Gandhi filed his nomination from the Wayanad constituency for Lok Sabha polls 2019, earlier in the morning. He will also be contesting the election from Amethi, his party bastion.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi, accompanied by his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, began a roadshow on Thursday in Kerala's Wayanad.

The Gandhi scion filed his nomination from the Wayanad constituency for Lok Sabha polls, earlier in the morning. He will also be contesting the election from Amethi, his party bastion.

Welcoming the brother-sister duo at the roadshow was a massive crowd, which went almost into a frenzy as soon as it spotted the Congress leaders atop their vehicle.

Clad in white, Rahul Gandhi shook hands with a couple of his supporters.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra asked the people of Wayanad to support his brother and said he was the most courageous man she had ever known.

People were also seen clicking pictures on their mobile phones and waving flags of the Congress party and its ally, Indian Union Muslim League (IUML).

Rahul Gandhi was also accompanied by former Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy and Leader of Opposition in the Kerala Assembly Ramesh Chennithala.
