Explosion heard near Radisson Hotel in Mahipalpur: Delhi Police releases statement, know what they said

According to the Fire Department, they received a call regarding the incident at around 9:18 am. Three fire tenders were rushed to the spot, officials confirmed.

Panic spread briefly on Thursday morning after a call was received reporting a loud sound near the Radisson Hotel in Delhi's Mahipalpur area. As per officials, emergency teams and police personnel were immediately rushed to the spot after receiving a call regarding the incident at around 9:18 am. Upon contacting the caller, officials were informed that the person had heard a loud noise while travelling towards Gurugram. However, when teams reached the site, no signs of any explosion were found.

During the questioning from locals, a security guard revealed that the sound had actually come from the rear tyre burst of a DTC bus heading towards Dhaula Kuan. Officials confirmed that the situation is completely normal and there is nothing to worry about.

Delhi on high alert post-Red Fort blast

It is to be noted here that Delhi has been placed on high alert with security tightened across all key areas of the city following the recent blast near the Red Fort. Security personnel have been deployed at every major junction and sensitive locations, with strict checking of vehicles entering and exiting the capital. The explosion near the Red Fort on November 10 left residents shaken. The tragic incident claimed 13 lives, while several others were injured and are currently undergoing treatment at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital.

Investigations have revealed a connection between the blast and a Faridabad-based terror module. Several suspected terrorist doctors have been arrested in the case and authorities have recovered around 2,900 kilograms of explosives along with multiple weapons from their possession.
