Bank Holidays 2026: Banks to remain closed for these many days this year - Full list
Bank Holidays 2026: In addition to national holidays, there are several bank holidays that apply to different states and cities.

The new year brings new responsibilities, including managing your finances and planning your banking. This is important for both individuals and business owners. This is why the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the 2026 bank holiday calendar. This calendar lists the dates when public and private banks will be closed. Holidays are based on national holidays, religious festivals, and the second and fourth Saturdays of each month, which may result in variations in the number of bank holidays across states.
Impact of national festivals and weekly holidays
According to the RBI calendar, certain holidays will be uniformly applicable across the country. Banks will be closed nationwide on national holidays, including Republic Day (January 26), Independence Day (August 15), and Gandhi Jayanti (October 2). Additionally, banks will observe weekly holidays on every Sunday as before. Additionally, the second and fourth Saturdays of every month will also be mandatory bank holidays. Considering these weekly and Saturday holidays alone, banks will remain closed on several days in 2026.
