Shares of National Securities Depository Ltd (NSDL) traded in the red today, September 19, 2025, a day after trading ex-date for a 100 per cent dividend. The stock started the session in the green at Rs 1,288 against the previous close of Rs 1,287.40 on the BSE. While it gained to touch the high of Rs 1,290, the stock dipped amid profit booking to hit an intraday low of Rs 1,270. Last seen, the counter was trading at 1,273.25, with a dip of 1.10 per cent. The market cap of the company stood at Rs 25,470.

The board of directors of the company had announced a dividend of 100 per cent on Rs 2 per cent or Rs 2 per share with a face value of Rs 2 each.

The company stated that the dividend, if approved, will be paid to the eligible shareholders after Diwali.
"The dividend, if approved, will be paid on or before Tuesday, October 28, 2025, subject to deduction of tax at source," NSDL said.
NSDL Q1 profit
National Securities Depository Ltd (NSDL) on Tuesday posted a 24 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 82.6 crore for the June quarter 2025-26, driven by strong revenue growth and expansion in market share.
In the same quarter last year, the depository had logged a profit of Rs 66.6 crore.
Total income climbed 21.68 per cent to Rs 190.4 crore in the quarter under review from Rs 156.5 crore in April-June FY25, the newly-listed company said in a statement.
Operationally, NSDL's demat account market share surged to 15.5 per cent from 9.4 per cent a year ago, with the total number of demat accounts crossing the 4-crore mark as of June 30, 2025.
In the unlisted market segment, the number of companies admitted rose to 10,392 during the quarter, taking the depository's equity market share to 73.2 per cent, up from 70.8 per cent in Q1 FY25.
NSDL, which debuted in the market on August 6, also retained a dominant 86.6 per cent share of total demat custody value.
