Patna:
Bihar voted for the 2025 Assembly elections in two phases, the first on November 6 and the second on November 11. This time, people turned out in large numbers to cast their votes. As per the Election Commission, 65.98% of voters voted in the first phase, while the second phase saw an even higher turnout of 68.52%. These are the highest voting figures ever recorded in the state. The 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections have delivered a decisive verdict, with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) clinching an overwhelming victory. The alliance, under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, secured 202 of the 243 seats, ensuring his fifth consecutive term to lead the state. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the largest party in the NDA, emerged as the dominant force, winning 89 seats from the 101 it contested, while JD(U), followed closely with 85 seats. Chirag Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) also made a notable mark, claiming 19 seats out of the 29 it contested.
