OAK PARK, Ill. (AP) — Some students at a suburban Chicago high school received an image of a swastika on their smartphones days after racist graffiti was found scrawled on school property.

Oak Park and River Forest High School informed parents by email that the image appeared on students' devices while they were attending an assembly in an auditorium Friday morning. Karin Sullivan says someone inside the auditorium sent the image using the AirDrop function of an iPhone or other Apple device.

Sullivan wrote to parents that school officials "believe we have brought this particular matter to closure" but privacy laws prohibit the school from making public the names of "persons responsible."

Once last week and again this week, racist messages that included swastikas were found at the school.
