Hyderabad: The TDP-BJP combine appeared set to form the first government in Seemandhra by bagging 67 Assembly seats and leading in another 37, while YSR Congress emerged victorious in 45 segments and leading in another 24.

The ruling Congress, under flak for bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, looked certain to suffer a severe drubbing with its nominees not leading in any of the total 175 Assembly constituencies in Seemandhra.

The Jai Samaikyandhra Party (JSP) of former Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy also remained a non-starter with its candidates not faring well anywhere.

TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, who has been winning his Kuppam Assembly seat since 1989, has retained the segment this time also by a margin of over 47,000 votes.

YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is all set to win in his family stronghold of Pulivendula in Kadapa district with a thumping majority.
