Muzaffarnagar violence; 41,000 people homeless in 38 refugee camps

Muzaffarnagar, UP: The state administration has admitted that there are still 41,000 people who are homeless and staying in 38 refugee camps in the aftermath of the communal violence that swept the region on Saturday

The main challenge before the district administration is how to ensure that the homeless people return without fear to their homes and hearths.

Several hundred homes were looted and torched. The homes belonged to people from low-income level, like farm labourers and small farmers.
