IPL 2021 Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) vs Chennai Super Kings (CSK): Live Score and Updates from Sharjah

IPL 2021, RCB vs CSK LIVE: Hello and welcome to the live coverage of Match 35 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 where Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah.

Chennai Super Kings defeat Royal Challengers Bangalore by six wickets, clinch top spot in points table

Chennai Super Kings defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by six wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 on Friday. Sent into bat, Royal Challengers Bangalore scored 156 for six in the allotted 20 overs. Chasing, CSK completed the task in 18.1 overs.

While RCB incurred a crushing nine-wicket defeat against KKR, CSK started off their UAE leg campaign with a comprehensive 20-run victory over defending champions MI. RCB are currently third in the points table with 10 points in eight games. CSK, with 12 points from eight matches, are second at the moment, with a chance to clinch the top spot.

Chennai 145/4 after 17 overs. Raina smokes a four and a six against Hasaranga, bringing the equation down to 12 off 18 deliveries. It's now looking like a cakewalk.

Chennai 125/3 after 15 overs. Rayudu is looking solid on 24 and joined by Raina.

Chennai 78/2 after 10 overs. Kohli's blinder first Gaikwad back to the dugout and Maxwell then removed du Plessis to steer Bangalore back into the game. Rayudu and Ali will have to play a bigger role now.

Chennai 43/0 after 5 overs. After a clinical display by the bowling unit, openers Gaikwad and du Plessis have helped Chennai gather 43 in first five overs. Chennai looking steady in chase of 156. Kohli (53) and Padikkal (70) were going hammer and tongs. Gaikwad and du Plessis have responded in the perfect manner.

Bangalore 156/6 after 20 overs. What a brilliant comeback by Chennai to restrict Bangalore to 156/6 in their 20 overs. After a fabulous start by Kohli and Padikkal, Bangalore were eyeing a mammoth total before Chennai pegged them back with wickets at regular intervals. Bravo plucked three, Thakur added two to his name while Chahar picked one wicket.

Bangalore 140/3 after 17 overs. Thakur plucks de Villiers, Padikkal on consecutive deliveries. Thakur has certainly saved a few crucial runs for his side. Two in a row for the pacer to finish his spell. Maxwell and David are in the middle.

Bangalore 118/1 after 15 overs. While Kohli have made his way back to the dugout, we might see a Padikkal special tonight. The 21-year-old has already got an IPL ton to his name, that came against Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede earlier this year in the first leg.

Kohli walks back after scoring 53. The partnership has finally been broken. Bravo does the trick to provide the breakthrough. Kohli looks to hit it out of the ground over deep mid-wicket but it goes straight to Jadeja, who won't be dropping any of those.

RCB 111/0 after 13 overs Kohli, Padikkal reach half-centuries to torment CSK. Kohli has also equalled Dhawan for most 50-plus scores by an Indian in IPL -- 46 half-century scores.

RCB 96/0 after 11 overs. Kohli and Padikkal have been unstoppable tonight. A sandstorm had earlier delayed the toss and it's the Kohli-Padikkal whirlwind now in Sharjah. RCB eyeing an intimidating total now.

RCB 55/0 after 6 overs. Bangalore off to a flying start! Kohli and Padikkal are hitting boundaries for fun in Sharjah. The duo has laid the foundation for a big total.

Virat Kohli 66 runs away to complete 10000 runs in his T20 Cricket Career. And he will be the first Indian player to do so.

IPL 2021 RCB vs CSK Preview:  Star-studded Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) would look to shrug off the crushing defeat in the previous outing and get their mojo back when they take on Mahendra Singh Dhoni's resilient Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in an 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) match on Friday. While RCB will look to start afresh, CSK got a confidence-boosting 20-run win against defending champions Mumbai Indians on Sunday night.

It is imperative for RCB to improve upon their batting as they seek to keep their place in the top half of the points table. It will be important that the openers -- Devdutt Padikkal (217 runs) and skipper Virat Kohli (203 runs) -- provide a solid start. But the opening duo would also need support from the middle-order, which crumbled against Kolkata Knight Riders. [FULL PREVIEW]
