IND vs BAN, 2nd ODI: Rohit Sharma, the Indian skipper has sustained an injury blow to his right thumb while fielding in the second match against Bangladesh. India are currently 1-0 down in the series and this blow to Sharma might cost them the match when they come out and bat against Bangladesh in the Shere Bangla National Stadium. As of now, vice-captain KL Rahul is operating as the stand-in skipper for the Indian team. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India posted a tweet regarding Rohit's medical update. The Tweet reads 'India Captain Rohit Sharma suffered a blow to his thumb while fielding in the 2nd ODI. The BCCI Medical Team assessed him. He has now gone for scans'. Rohit sustained the injury while standing at second slip as he dropped Anamul Haque off Mohammed Siraj in the fourth ball of the second over. Rohit started bleeding and was immediately taken off the field. As of now, the Indian skipper is kept under observation and he remains doubtful as far as India's batting innings is concerned. There was a lot of conjecture regarding Rahul and his place in the team but come to the first ODI against Bangladesh, the Indian team management chose KL Rahul as their wicketkeeper-batsman. As of now, Rahul will lead India in the ongoing match. 

The men in blue are currently fighting it out to stay alive in the series. They suffered a massive heartbreak in the first ODI the hosts defeated them by a margin of 1 wicket. The Indian team has no other option but to win the second match of the ODI series. They have their eyes set on the 2023 ODI World Cup and to have their preparations in place, this series will be extremely crucial for the team management and their plans.
