Delhi assembly polls 2013: Dikshit trashes BJP allegations of corruption

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit Tuesday dismissed the allegations of corruption against her party by the BJP, saying they are "baseless" and would be "countered" politically."The allegations levelled by BJP are absolutely baseless.

The BJP has accused the Delhi government of colluding with power companies to hike power tariffs. It has also targeted the government for financial irregularities in the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Both the charges have been denied by Dikshit.

A representative from the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) will also be present as a show of unity in the party.

Elections in Delhi are slated for Dec 4 and counting will be on Dec 8.

"Since the model code of conduct is in place, I have called all of you (journalists) here (at her residence). We will respond to the opposition charges through the media," said Dikshit who was flanked by cabinet colleagues Rajkumar Chauhan, Haroon Yusuf and Arvinder Singh Lovely.
