Shoddy arrangements by Railways led to fatal stampede at Allahabad

Allahabad/New Delhi/Kanpur, Feb 11: While the UP government had made elaborate arrangements to smoothly handle the over 3 crore influx of pilgrims at Kumbh Mela, by dividing the Mela grounds into different sectors, the Railway


 
Delhi's Shakarpur Mother Dairy resident Raj Singh is still searching for his wife, who had gone to Sangam with their relatives.  Mohan, a resident of Shalimar Bagh, Delhi, who had come with his 58-year-old wife Ram Boli and relatives, lost his wife. He is returning with his wife's body to Delhi.


 
Dharmendra, a resident of Delhi's Sultanpuri who was trying to return by Prayag Raj Express, with his wife and 70-year old mother, was caught in the stampede. His old mother is critically injured and fighting for life in the hospital.
 
Chanbhai, a  resident of  Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, who came with eight family members, lost three of them - 8-year-old daughter Muskaan, 60-year-old mother Bitta and 60-year-old brother's mother-in-law Fulabai, in the stampede.
