Last days of Afzal Guru in Tihar jail, was staying 20 metres away from hangman's noose

New Delhi, Feb 9 : Mohammed Afzal Guru, the main convict in the Parliament atttack case, was counting his last days inside the high-security Tihar Jail in Delhi , when his  mercy petition was with



Afzal, during his last days, was well aware about  the hanging of Ajmal Qasab and the debate around his death sentence.   

Afzal Guru was lodged inside a 16-feet long and 12-feet wide cell. All food served to him  used to be first tasted by the deputy jail superintendent himself.  

Afzal Guru prefered to drink milk and was calm most of the times.  There was a big park outside his cell, where he usually  used to go for a walk. In the corner of the park, was the hanging scaffold ready for him, from where he was hanged today at 8 am.

Several months ago, Indian intelligence agencies got an info from Pakistani agencies that Afzal Guru has passed away inside Tihar jail.
