Jammu and Kashmir: Massive fire breaks out at MLA hostel in Srinagar, seven-room wooden hut gutted

Several fire tenders were rushed to the scene to douse the flames. No one was injured in the incident but the wooden structure at the hostel suffered damages.

Jammu and Kashmir: A massive fire broke out at an MLA hostel in Srinagar on Friday morning. Several fire tenders were rushed to spot to douse the flames.

The fire at the hostel, located on the Maulana Azad Road, resulted in damage to the wooden structure, fire and emergency services officials said.

They said the fire brigade personnel doused the blaze and saved the adjacent structures.

There was no loss of life in the incident, the officials said, adding that the cause of fire is being investigated.

In another incident, at least one person died after a fire broke out in a building in Delhi's Shahdara area.

"One person died after a fire broke out on the ground floor of a four-storey building in Shahdara. Fire tenders have extinguished the fire", said Delhi Police official.

Just a day earlier, a massive fire broke out in a market in Delhi's Alipur area, claiming the lives of 11 people while four others were injured.
