Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's film, Stree, has scared away everything that comes their way. The numbers aren’t stop pouring since the release of the film on August 31 and has managed to impress the audience and critics alike. After an excellent opening day, the movie has earned Rs 48. 34 crores in just five days.

Bollywood trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh took to his social media to share Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer film’s latest collection and wrote, "#Stree is SENSATIONAL... Has cast a spell at the BO... Day 5 [Tue] - working day - was the true test for #Stree... ROCK-SOLID biz on Day 5 proves it’s not in a mood to slow down... Fri 6.83 cr, Sat 10.87 cr, Sun 14.57 cr, Mon 9.70 cr, Tue 6.37 cr. Total: ₹ 48.34 cr. India biz. #Stree will cruise past ₹ 50 cr mark today [Day 6; Wed]... Trending is better than #SKTKS [Week 1: ₹ 45.94 cr] and #Raazi [Week 1: ₹ 56.59 cr]… Will it breach ₹ 100 cr mark? Depends on how it fares in Week 2... It’s a wait-and-watch situation right now!"

On the other hand, Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se starring Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, which also released this weekend, failed to impress the critics and audience alike. Even legendary actor Dharmendra’s otherworldly charm couldn’t make the film work.

Set in the town of Chanderi, the movie is based on a 'ridiculous' phenomenon in which a spirit named Stree whisks away men during four days of puja. While Rao plays the role of famous tailor Vicky, Shraddha Kapoor is the mysterious girl adding to the eerie atmosphere. The movie also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Vijay Raaz, Atul Shrivastava, Aparshakti Khurrana and Abhishek Banerjee in pivotal roles.

''Stree is a new experience for me. I've been doing very serious films like Omerta, Aligarh and Newton. But then I had fun doing Bareilly Ki Barfi and Fanney Khan where there were lots of laughs to lean on. Stree has just a bit of the spooky feeling and loads of laughter. It was fun to do. This is director Amar Kaushik's first feature. And the film is produced by Raj and DK who have directed one of my favourite horror comedies Go Goa Gone,'' Rao said in an interview.
