The teaser of Sanju featuring actor Ranbir Kapoor released recently and got positive response from cinema lovers. Speculations were rife from quite sometime that superstar Aamir Khan was the first choice to play Sunil Dutt's role in Rajkumar Hirani’s directorial venture based on Sanjay Dutt’s life. The actor also liked the role but later changed his mind following which Paresh Rawal was roped in for the part. Now, the director has finally revealed the reason Aamir Khan didn’t come on board.

In an interview, Hirani stated that he offered the role to Mr Perfectionist but at that time Aamir was already playing a father in Dangal.

He was quoted as saying, “Aamir is a friend. Any script I write, I bounce it to him. When I narrated Sanju to him, he loved it and said, 'Main bhi kuch karta hoon (I should also do something in it).' Then I said, do this. But he was already doing the role of an elderly man in Dangal (2016) around the same time.”

The teasers and posters of the movie are proof that Ranbir has really worked hard to get into the skin of the character. People have high expectations with the movie. Apart from Ranbir, Sanju also features Dia Mirza, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Manisha Koirala and Vicky Kaushal in pivotal roles. The movie is all set to hit the screens on June 29.
