Vaman Dwadashi 2022: In Hinduism, worshipping the God and Goddesses is considered of utmost importance. Every puja, every fast has its own benefits. Today is Vamana Dwadashi. It is celebrated on the Dwadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Ashadh month. Vamana avatar of Lord Vishnu is worshipped on this day. Vamana avatar is considered to be the fifth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. In Treta Yuga, Lord Vishnu took the form of Vamana to remove the ego of Bali, the king of demons. 

People also celebrate Vamana Dwadashi as Vishnu Jayanti. Fasting on this day is considered very beneficial. It is believed that by worshipping Shri Hari Narayan Vishnu on this day, the feeling of ego gets eliminated from the human being. Worshipping Lord Vishnu by following the right rituals gives desired results. Also, four auspicious yogas are being formed on this day. Worshipping Lord Vishnu while observing a fast during this time will shower the blessings of Shri Harinarayan on the devotees.

What to donate on Vamana Dwadashi

After fasting and worshipping on Vamana Dwadashi, put a bowl of sugar, a bowl of rice and a bowl of curd in a vessel and donate it to the Brahmins. The donation of white things on this day is considered auspicious. Apart from this, you can also donate garlands, asanas, clothes, fruits and Geeta to Brahmins. By doing this Lord Vishnu gets very pleased.
