Ashes batsmen 'using tape on bats to interfere with HotSpot on DRS referrals'

 
Reports on Australia's Channel Nine have suggested that players in the Ashes have been using a ‘silicone-based tape' on the edge of their bats to interfere with HotSpot.
The infra-red technology, which is used to detect thin edges, appeared to malfunction during the third Test at Old Trafford, where both sides expressed disbelief at some of the decisions reached by the DRS.
