Shaista was running the illegal empire of Atiq Ahmed as she knew about the immense wealth and property her husband acquired over the last 4 decades.

Atiq Ahmed killing: In another revelation, officials have informed that Shaista Parveen, wife of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed who was shot dead by three shooters in UP's Prayagraj on April 15, is trying to secure her husband's illegal funds and properties. Shaista Parveen, an accused in the Umesh Pal murder case, has been absconding. UP Police has announced a bounty of Rs 50,000 on her. 

According to reports, Shaista Parveen was running and looking after her husband Atiq Ahmed's mafia raj (empire) and used to collect extortion money through hawala.

Shaista was running the illegal empire of Atiq Ahmed as she knew about the immense wealth and property her husband acquired over the last 4 decades.

"We have information that Shaista is trying her best to keep Atiq's wealth and save it for her sons. We are now probing the sources from which the family was able to acquire these properties," cops said.

STF raids two UP villages in hunt for Shaista

Special Task Force (STF) team has conducted raids in Uttar Pradesh's Kaushambi district in search of Shaista Parveen.

The raids were conducted in two villages adjacent to Kaushambi-Prayagraj including Asrawal Khurd and Asrawal Kala village.

According to reports, some relatives of Atiq Ahmed reside in these two villages. Officials have said that Shaista is changing her locations frequently and is not using a mobile phone.

Atiq's sister Ayesha Noori is also accompanying Shaista.

Shaista has a reward of 50 thousand in Umesh shootout case. In these raids, two women and 5 men have been detained.
