It's official, Huawei the Chinese smartphone will be launching its new Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro on 16th October in London. The company has rolled out media invites that teases the handset, which points to some key details.

The invite of the mate 20 pro teaser confirms that both the handsets will come powered by the newly announced 7nm Kirin 980 processor and will feature more AI features. The poster of the invite reads, 'A HIGHER INTELLIGENCE IS COMING', wherein the 'A' and 'I' from INTELLIGENCE is highlighted in red that confirms that we could expect new AI capabilities not just in the camera, but also the User Interface of the phones. The Kirin 980 processor was already launched by Huawei at IFA 2018 that comes with 7nm SoC and AI capabilities.

According to Huawei, the chip offers 20 per cent greater performance than a 10nm processor, and also boasts higher efficiency by almost 40 per cent.

According to rumoured reports, leaks suggest that both the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro will sport a display notch design and both the smartphones are likely to run on Android Pie-based EMUI 9.0 out-of-the-box.

Other rumours suggest that the Huawei Mate 20 Pro might feature an in-display fingerprint sensor, whereas the Mate 20 would come with a traditional fingerprint sensor. Rumours also suggest that the Mate 20 might have a 4,200mAh battery and might have wireless charging support, if it happens to come with a glass back construction.

In terms of camera, Huawei Mate 20 Pro could come with a triple camera similar to that of the P20 Pro and the Mate 20 might feature a dual rear camera setup, which is similar to that of Mate 20 Lite that was seen in IFA 2018. The Mate 20 Lite runs on Kirin 710 SoC, backed with EMUI 8.2 over Android 8.1 Oreo.
