Amazon launches new ad-supported music streaming service in the US via Echo speakers and other Alexa devices.

Amazon has launched its new ad-supported music streaming service in the US via company's lineup of Echo speakers along with other Alexa devices, with an aim to take on Spotify. This service from Amazon will be different from Amazon Music Unlimited and Amazon Prime Music.

The company wrote in a blog post on Thursday, "And so, beginning today, customers in the US who do not yet have a Prime membership or a subscription to Amazon Music Unlimited will now be able to listen to an ad-supported selection of top playlists and stations for free with Amazon Music on compatible Alexa-enabled devices".

With this user will now have access to play a station based on a song, era, artist and genre to hear some of the Amazon Music's top global playlists that include Country Heat, Fuego Latino and more.

Amazon on Thursday separately announced that the company had made up with Google and will offer YouTube on Fire TV again, while Amazon Prime Video would be coming back to Chromecast.
