Tamil Nadu: Two schools get bomb threat, police launch investigation

The local authorities in Coimbatore and Kancheepuram increased the security at PSBB Millennium School and a private school after they received the bomb threats.

Two schools received bomb threats in Tamil Nadu, causing panic amongst students, staffers and parents on Monday.

According to the media reports, the PSBB Millennium School in Coimbatore and a private school in Kancheepuram district received the bomb threats.

The media reports stated that PSBB Millennium School in Coimbatore got the bomb threat email on Sunday night, while school in Kancheepuram received a similar threat on call on Monday morning. The police personnel along with bomb disposal squads rushed to the PSBB Millennium School in Coimbatore. The schol management told the security officials that they have received a threat email claiming a bomb was planted in the school.

The police said the threat call received by the Kancheepuram school was a hoax call. 

However, the police initiated a thorough investigation to trace the source of the email and the call. 

Meanwhile, the secuirty around the schools in both cities hightened and the security persons were told not to allow anyone inside the school without proper checking.
