New Delhi: India's top doubles badminton player Jwala Gutta  moved the Delhi High Court today to challenge the order of a life ban on her by the disciplinary committee of the Badminton Association of India (BAI).

Jwala Gutta moved the high court saying the disciplinary committee's verdict was issued in “violation of settled principles of natural justice and fairness, without giving a hearing to her”.

Justice V.K. Jain fixed the hearing for  Thursday.

BAI has also barred Jwala from participating in national and international tournaments, the 30-year-old player told the court.

“The entire approach of the association was pre-determined and has been taken to single out her,” the plea said, adding that BAI has warned her with a life ban without reason or justification.
