Baba Ramdev beats Olympic medallist Andrey Stadnik 12-0 in ‘exhibition’ wrestling bout, hails ‘power of yoga’

Yoga guru Baba Ramdev easily defeated Olympic silver medallist Andrey Stadnik 12-0 during an ‘exhibition’ wrestling bout in Pro Wrestling League season two on Wednesday.

Yoga guru Baba Ramdev easily defeated Olympic silver medallist Andrey Stadnik 12-0 during an ‘exhibition’ wrestling bout in Pro Wrestling League season two on Wednesday. 

Being an exhibition match, Andrey Stadnik did not put any effort to score a point against Baba Ramdev.

Andrey had defeated wrestler Sushil Kumar in Beijing Olympics.

Before the start of the bout, Baba Ramdev hailed the ‘power of yoga’ and performed ‘Surya Namaskar’.

Baba Ramdev opened his account with 4 points, and quickly got a lead of 7-0.

After emerging victorious, Baba chanted slogans like “Bharat mata ki jai.! Vande Matram!”

Talking to media persons after the match, Baba said that wrestling will excel in the upcoming years and will become one of the most followed sports in the world.

“Andrey is a class-apart wrestler and I really enjoyed this wrestling session with him. I hope very soon wrestling as a sport will take over the world and will become much more recognized, with Pro wrestling league taking it to higher levels,” he added.

“I had my bout against a very strong opponent. His energy is amazing. I am also glad that he is supporting PWL. Its a great move made by him,” Andrey Stadnik said after the match.
