New Delhi: England batsman Ian Bell is just one century short of  standing among the likes of Don Bradman, Wally Hammond and Herbert Sutcliffe, the only players to score four centuries in an Ashes.

Bell has already three ton under his belt during the current Ashes series which would culminate at Oval Sunday.

The irony is despite three hundreds, he has not yet been  named man of the match in any of the four Tests so far. He may well, however, end up with a well deserved man of the series award when England lift the Ashes urn on Sunday evening.
"I don't think he's particularly bothered about the fact that he's scored three hundreds in three wins and he's not been man of the match," his captain Alastair  Cook said.
"He's got to be very close to the man of the series because those runs he's scored have been fantastic when we've needed them the most. They've been vital runs all the time, all three of his hundreds. He couldn't have done any more. I don't know who selects man of the series but he'd certainly be up there."
