Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Ross Taylor hit his first test century of the year as New Zealand set Pakistan a target of 261 on the last day to win the second test.

New Zealand declared its second innings at 250-9 a half-hour before lunch Friday, an overall lead of 260, soon after Tim Southee was out following hit three successive sixes off Zulfiqar Babar (4-96).

Taylor, 77 overnight, completed his century off 129 balls with a dozen boundaries and added 60 runs with Mark Craig (34) to set Pakistan a tricky target from 72 overs.
