India vs New Zealand World Test Championship Final, Day 2

IND vs NZ, WTC Final, Live Score and updates: Hello and welcome to the live coverage of the final of the inaugural World Test Championship final at the Rose Bowl in Southampton where no.1 ranked New Zealand will take on Virat Kohli's men for the elusive trophy and the ICC Test Mace. The opening day was washed out due to incessant rain but the presence of a reserve sixth day lessened the frustration.

But the forecast for Saturday shows 'partly sunny' for a major part of the morning followed by a light shower in the afternoon. Will Kane Williamson's men emulate the same, riding to an impressive series win in England last week or will India manage to add another feather to their crammed hat? Players are off for bad light once again! The umpires have called for the pitch covers. While the lightmeter is out, fans are eagerly waiting for the play to resume.

India lose openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill after a solid start, reaching 69 for 2 at lunch against New Zealand. Rohit (34 off 68 balls) and Gill (28 off 64 balls) added 62 for the opening stand as they looked impressive against the Kiwi pace attack in overcast conditions.

"New ball bowler, you would enjoy bowling here. Fair bit of grass which means the ball will certainly seam and with the overcast conditions it will also swing. Historically, it has helped seamers a lot more than spin. But if the sun does come out on days 3 and 4, spinners will come into play. Looks pleasurable for bowling" - Simon Doull and Sunil Gavaskar in the pitch report
