Happy being rejected in IPL, Alex Hales is all set to make his ODI debut

New Delhi: For the world's no 3 best T20 batsman Alex Hales it is a blessing in disguise as he was rejected in the IPL auction earlier this year, but his sensational unbeaten innings of



"I am almost glad that the door shut on me in the IPL and it has given me the chance to work hard on my four-day game.  Had I gone to India it would have all been T20 and whacking the ball rather than technique and building and compiling innings," Hales summed up about how he felt about the cash-rich league.

The call of IPL's get-rich-quick scheme appears to have dissipated and Hales appears happier with the progress he has made with his bat as opposed to his bank balance.



In 2013, Nottinghamshire refused to release him for the IPL and during the last edition, dashing batsman was not picked up by any of the franchises.
