LEEDS, England : England were bowled out for 365 on Sunday and lead Sri Lanka by 86 runs at lunch in the second test, as the tourists reached lunch on 22-0 in response on day three at Headingley.

England begun the day on 320-6 and added 18 runs before Shaminda Eranga made the breakthrough, with Chris Jordan (17) edging to Mahela Jayawardene. Jordan had edged Eranga behind an over earlier, but it went between wicketkeeper Dinesh Chandimal and Kumar Sangakkara at first slip for four runs.

Angelo Mathews followed up in the over after with a wicket when Stuart Broad (4) edged to Lahiru Thirimanne at gully.  Mathews then flattened Liam Plunkett's middle stump for his fourth wicket with an in-swinging delivery that pitched outside off stump. Plunkett made two, and James Anderson went for 0 after fending an Eranga bouncer back to him.

Sri Lanka captain Mathews finished with test-best bowling figures of 4-44, as Matt Prior finished unbeaten on 27.
Sri Lanka's openers Dimuth Karunaratne and Kaushal Silva have made a steady start, scoring 16 and six respectively to lower England's lead from 108 to 86.

But Jordan, who had some luck at the crease when he was batting, was out of good fortune when he was fielding at second clip. He dropped a straightforward catch to remove Dimuth Karunaratne on four runs off the bowling of Anderson, as England failed to breakthrough in the 12 overs before lunch.
