Dhaka, Apr 20: The Bangladesh Cricket Board postponed a two-match tour of Pakistan next week after the Bangladesh High Court ordered it be delayed for a month because of security concerns.

The BCB conveyed the decision to its Pakistan counterpart after the court order on Thursday, dealing a fresh blow to hopes of reviving international cricket in the troubled nation.

A Dhaka university teacher, Khandaker Didarus Salam, petitioned the court to cancel the tour on security grounds. The court said it will review the situation in a month.

Pakistan hasn't hosted a test-playing team since gunmen attacked the Sri Lanka cricket team in Lahore in March 2009, killing six police officials and wounding several members of the team.

Bangladesh was scheduled to play a one-day international on April 29 followed by a Twenty20 match the next day, both in Lahore.
