New Delhi: Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli has always created a buzz, both for his performances on the ground and his activities off the field. The sensational cricketing star has now featured in GQ’s list of 50 Most Influential Young Indians.

Gentlemen’s Quarterly (GQ), an international monthly men’s magazine based in New York, released the list on Monday that included actors, musicians, sportspersons, entrepreneurs and filmmakers, all below the age of 40.

Kohli, after his record-breaking performances in the World T20 and the recently concluded IPL 9, surpassed Team India’s limited-over captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni in terms of popularity on social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook.

With his consistent performances since 2013 when he was topped the ICC rankings, stylish looks and vibrant image among the youth, Kohli has become the figure of speech for the 21st century.

The swashbuckling batsman has so far smashed 11 centuries in just 41 Test matches and 25 tons in merely 171 ODIs.

The 27-year-old Kohli also hold the record of hitting most number of half-centuries (16) in T20 cricket. He also holds the record of smashing the fastest ODI century by an Indian – 100 off just 52 balls against Australia in 2013.

The list released by the renowned GQ magazine also includes Indian footballer Sunil Chhetry, musician Benny Dayal, actor Ranveer Singh and filmmaker Ritesh Batra.
